Original Floppy Disk Version
1)You must have X-Wing installed on the Recommended or Maximum install. The minimum install doesn't copy mission files to your hard drive, and therefore, you can't replace them.
2)You will find, under the XWing directory, a sub-directory called "Mission". Rename this directory as "MsnOrg". This will save your original missions so that you don't inadvertantly lose them.
3)Create a new sub-directory called "Mission" to take the place of the original one you just renamed. Copy your custom missions into this new folder. Keep in mind that there is no limit as to how many missions you may have in this folder.
Rename your custom missions to match names of existing missions in Tour of Duty 1
In this case rename your custom missions DEFECT.brf, and DEFECT.xwi
Example: When you are in your "C:\Xwing\Mission" directory, lets call the mission in this example "JediWar1", make sure the custom mission is in the directory.
Rename JediWar1.xwi to DEFECT.xwi
Rename JediWar1.brf to DEFECT.brf
4)The custom mission would now be located in X-Wing Tour Of Duty Mission 1. Enter the game as you normally would, but make a new pilot. Enter the X-Wing Tour of Duty Mission 1, and there you are! The custom mission briefing should appear in the place of the normal briefing.
If you have any problems with getting the custom missions running (it's not very hard), please email the Trainning Officer at:
