Briefing Building in TFW
This course will teach you, in an easy an comprehensible way how to build your own briefings. With a little of practice, you'll earn enough skills to become a professional maker.
This part of the briefing is more complicated than the text briefing and it takes longer. You'll need practice before you can do it easily.
- è First you need to check the box for briefing under a ship's navigation tab to have that ship be in the briefing. Once you check that box, the ship will appear on the briefing map.
- è Once the ships you want in the briefing are on the briefing map, go to Briefing and then Briefing Map. Arrange the ships to where you want them on the map. Don't spread them out too much or they will not all appear on the map.
- è Next click on the pencil icon which is Add Text On Map. This if for Flight Group labels. Then click on the briefing map area. Type in the text you want, select and unused slot, and specify the color. To move the text, simply click and drag.
- è Now click on the first A icon which is Change Title Text. Type in the name of the mission. Make sure that is what you want because you cannot change the text once it is input.
- è Then click on the second A icon which is Change Caption Text. Type in the caption you want to appear, then click OK. Repeat to add more caption. Make sure the caption is correct before you click OK because you cannot change it once it is input. Do not make the line much longer than the space you can see. Otherwise it will not all show up in the briefing.
- è Next click on the pointing hand icon which is Add Flight Group Tag. This will highlight a selected flight group to go along with the caption. Select the Flight Group to be tagged and select and unused position. Remember the order you place them in for later.
- è Now go to Briefing and then Event Editor. The first caption will already be there. To add the rest click New. Then set tag 2, event caption text, and time 70. To add a third caption to the event list. Click new, set tag 3, even caption text, and time 140. Repeat for more captions.
- è The Flight Group tags will be there already. They will be in the order that you placed them in. Set their times to align with the caption text you want.
- è Then test the briefing to make sure it works like you want it to.
- è Lastly, go to Briefing and Options. For every 70 time allow 6 seconds in the briefing timing options.

You should now have a visual and text briefing. Once you get more experience with briefings, it will become easier, and you'll be able to do more with the briefings.
